Houthis claim strikes on Riyadh, Yanbu while Saudi coalition says attacks thwarted

Houthi forces claimed responsibility for missile and drone strikes on Riyadh and Aramco facilities in the coastal city of Yanbu, while the Saudi-led coalition stated that their air defenses intercepted and destroyed the projectiles before they reached their intended targets. The coalition spokesperson, Major General Turki al-Maliki, accused the Houthis of escalating efforts to target civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Saudi authorities had issued an early-morning alert instructing residents to seek shelter indoors due to the threats. A fuel depot near Riyadh's airport suffered a blaze, with smoke rising from the site, though it was unclear if the incident was linked to the reported attacks.
