Highly-touted freshman Roman Voss scores first Gophers TD

Last year’s Minnesota Mr. Football, Roman Voss, opted to play college football for the Gophers instead of accepting offers from prestigious programs like Alabama, Miami (FL), USC, and others. In his first collegiate game against Akron in Week 3, Voss scored his very first touchdown, showcasing his impressive talent as a highly-anticipated freshman.

He previously played quarterback at Jackson County Central (JCC) High School but switched to tight end with the Gophers. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 235 pounds, Voss possesses significant long-term potential, and he has already demonstrated his skills. During Week 1 against Eastern Illinois, Voss played nine offensive snaps, four in Week 2 against Mississippi State, and ultimately scored his maiden career touchdown in his third game.
