'Here's how to write it': Akmal dares Nga to honour resignation pledge after Loke quits

Malaysia's Umno Youth leader, Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, has called out Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming on his commitment to resign. This comes after DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke announced his decision to step down as transport minister. Akmal expressed his thoughts on Loke's move via a Facebook post, stating that Loke's resignation was a case of 'ordering one thing and getting another.'

In his message, Akmal urged Nga to follow Loke's example and write a resignation letter if he is indeed serious about his pledge. He also invited his friends to share the letter with others who might be interested. Akmal further encouraged Nga to share the letter with other DAP ministers and deputy ministers, should they decide to follow suit.

Earlier, Loke made his resignation known following the announcement of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razk's conditional house arrest. Loke also hinted that other DAP ministers and deputy ministers would continue to serve in the unity government. He acknowledged that some quarters were anticipating DAP's departure from the government, hoping it would weaken Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's parliamentary support and potentially trigger the dissolution of Parliament.

Nga, who also serves as DAP deputy chairman, previously stated that he would be the first minister to resign if Umno secured a landslide victory in the Johor election and Najib was released without facing the consequences of his actions. Meanwhile, Akmal shared a copy of his own resignation letter as a Melaka executive councillor as a reference for Nga.
