Five students held over alleged hostel assault of form two students in Rompin

Five male students from a religious secondary school in Bukit Ibam, Rompin, have been detained following an alleged assault on two Form Two students in the school hostel on September 12. Deputy district police chief DSP Mohamad Zamri Mohamad Zaber informed Rompin officials that the police have received two reports regarding the incident at the Bukit Ibam police station since September 17.

The case is currently under investigation under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting. Police investigations revealed that the incident took place around 12.01am when the two victims were summoned to Male Hostel Room 203 by a group of at least five students, consisting of three Form Five students and two Form Four students. According to the police, the assault occurred due to allegations that the first victim had skipped a religious class, while the second victim was allegedly an accomplice.

Both victims sustained injuries as a result of the attack - the first victim with injuries to both arms, and the second victim with injuries to their body.
