EPL: Arsenal suffer first defeat of season as Brighton win 3-0

Arsenal's flawless start to the Premier League season came to an abrupt end on Saturday as Brighton & Hove Albion secured a commanding 3-0 victory at the Amex Stadium. Despite winning their opening four league matches, as well as all seven of their competitive games this season, Mikel Arteta's side were unable to maintain their perfect record.

Brighton's Pascal Gross put the hosts ahead in the 31st minute with a powerful shot from the edge of the box. Charalampos Kostoulas doubled the lead just before halftime with another long-range strike, leaving Arsenal with a significant deficit at the break. Aitor Kovac extended Brighton's lead in the 57th minute with a well-taken header, completing a dominant performance.

The defeat marks Arsenal's first loss of the season after an impressive run of victories, including wins over Manchester United, Leeds United, Chelsea, and Sunderland, as well as Champions League and League Cup matches. For Brighton, the win continues their impressive form under manager Fabian Hürzeler, who has led the team to notable victories in recent matches.
