EFF and Ngizwe Mchunu supporters clash in Inanda

A heated clash erupted once more between supporters of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Ngizwe Mchunu at Inanda, located north of Durban. Sources suggest that the Ngizwe Mchunu faction was in the process of setting up for their musical event at Dube Village when they encountered a group of EFF supporters. The EFF is currently preparing for its provincial manifesto launch in Inanda, with party leader Julius Malema set to deliver a keynote address.

The EFF claims that Ngizwe Mchunu chose to stage their event in the same location as the EFF rally, ostensibly to provoke the party on purpose. Mazwi Blose, an EFF spokesperson, declared that Ngizwe Mchunu lacks a permit for their event and vowed to thwart its progress. Blose stated, "We cannot allow this gathering as it's merely a diversion from our cause.

These individuals seek to mobilize against our event, attempt to block our buses, and even aim to impede the commander-in-chief's arrival at the stadium, as it is the sole route he can utilize to enter the stadium. Consequently, that is why we, with our forces, are present to defend our organization and ensure no Ngizwe Mchunu manages to proceed."

The clash between the two factions intensified on Friday as they mobilized for their respective rallies, resulting in gunfire and numerous individuals being attacked. In response, a substantial police force has been dispatched to Inanda this Saturday, anticipating the escalation of tensions as both groups proceed with their events.

Ngizwe Mchunu refuted allegations that their event was intended to disrupt the EFF's manifesto launch on Saturday morning. They emphasized that they intended to proceed with their gathering, stating, "We adhered to all protocols with councillor Mfeka. We are here, and they informed us that the stadium is available because it is not expected to be a significant event. It will be a low-risk gathering where people come together to pray."
