Education reform needed to address infrastructure gaps in Telangana schools, says TPF

The Telangana People’s Front (TPF) called for more robust reforms to tackle infrastructure issues in government schools during a round-table conference in Nizamabad. Akunuri Murali, a TPF member and former Chairperson of the Telangana Education Commission, highlighted that approximately 30,000 schools in the state lacked basic infrastructure, making it hard for students to receive a quality education.

The commission had previously outlined infrastructure and academic standards in a report to the State government, but Murali urged greater public awareness of the issue. The conference, part of the TPF’s Education Bus Yatra, aimed to address concerns related to school education and propose measures to strengthen public education while curbing private school fees.

Murali also proposed a three-part model for developing prototype schools, which would focus on infrastructure, teaching materials, and extracurricular activities to promote overall student development.
