Dubai Police issue scam warning ahead of new season of Global Village

Dubai Police have issued a caution to the public regarding potential scams related to the upcoming 31st season of Global Village in Dubai. The warning comes as VIP packages for the event are set to be offered in stages exclusively through the Coca-Cola Arena website. The advanced sales period for these exclusive packages runs from September 21 to 25, followed by a general sale commencing on September 26. Global Village is scheduled to officially reopen at 6pm on Wednesday, October 14, and will operate until May 2027.

According to police, scammers often exploit the announcement of Global Village activities and packages to defraud individuals of their money and personal information. Fraudsters create or clone websites and social media accounts that closely mimic official pages, leading unsuspecting victims to believe they are using an authorized platform. These criminals may direct victims to complete fraudulent purchases or divulge sensitive personal data.

Dubai Police urged the public to exercise caution and avoid deals that seem too good to be true, such as offers of unusually low prices. Only tickets and packages should be purchased through official and authorized channels, and users should refrain from clicking on links or following accounts from unknown sources. The police emphasized that taking a moment to verify the source of an offer can help safeguard personal information and prevent financial losses.
