Dubai Police issue scam warning ahead of new season of Global Village

Dubai Police have cautioned residents to exercise caution regarding fraudulent websites and social media accounts promoting deceptive packages for the upcoming season of Global Village in Dubai. This advisory coincides with the introduction of VIP packages for Global Village's 31st season, which will be offered incrementally via the Coca-Cola Arena website.

Preliminary sales will occur from September 21 to 25, while a comprehensive sale commences on September 26. Global Village is scheduled to reopen at 6pm on Wednesday, October 14, and will operate until May 2027.

Dubai Police assert that fraudsters typically aim to pilfer funds and personal details by capitalizing on the announcement of Global Village events and packages. Scammers frequently establish or replicate websites and social media profiles that closely mimic the official pages, deceiving individuals into thinking they are utilizing a legitimate platform.

Victims may be led to complete illicit purchases or divulge personal information. The force implores the public to avoid succumbing to enticing offers that seem too good to be true, such as proposals of exceptionally low prices. Tickets and packages should exclusively be procured from official and authorized sources; users should refrain from clicking on links or following accounts from unfamiliar sources.

The police emphasize that taking a brief moment to confirm the source of an offer can safeguard personal information and avert financial losses. They also encourage the public to report suspected scams, dubious accounts, and fraudulent links via the ecrime platform or by dialing 901.
