DAIS And NMAJS Host ISSO National Championships, Bringing Together 1,000+ Student Athletes From 145 Schools Across India

Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS) and Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School (NMAJS) are hosting the ISSO National Championships from September 18th to October 1st, 2026. Over 1,000 student-athletes from 145 international schools across 31 cities will participate in this largest school sporting event in India. The championships will include Football, Judo, and Taekwondo competitions.

Football will be played at Reliance Corporate Park, Ghansoli. The event offers a platform for young athletes to compete at the highest level and serves as a selection route for potential ISSO School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and International School Sport Federation (ISF) representatives. The ISSO Under-14 Girls Football Championship features 16 schools.

Judo saw 210 participants across 17 schools, while Taekwondo attracted 590 athletes from 87 schools competing in Poomsae and Kyorugi events. DAIS and NMAJS have been associated with ISSO for over a decade and have contributed to the growth of competitive school sports in India. The championships have seen rapid expansion, with Judo and Taekwondo participation growing from single digits to four-digits.

Mr. Abhimanyu Basu, Dean of DAIS and NMAJS and member of the Organising Committee, emphasizes the importance of the event in nurturing young talent and promoting values like teamwork, leadership, and fair play.
