Wichary argues that the redesign doesn't align with the operating system and is not necessarily more modern or user-friendly. He draws a parallel to the disastrous city planning of the 1970s, where modernism led to the destruction of vibrant urban areas.

Wichary believes it's not too late to reverse the changes and emphasizes the importance of maintaining thoughtful design patterns that are welcoming to new users and intuitive for long-term users.
