Chimica e farmaceutica lanciano un’analsul lavoro e la svolta tecnologica

Federchimica and Farmindustria have collaborated with trade unions (Filctem, Femca, and Uiltec) to launch a social analysis project, to be carried out by the University of Milan. The goal is to boost the sector's appeal to talents, manage the needs of an evolving labor force, and tackle the advent of new technologies. Federchimica's president, Francesco Buzzella, emphasized that understanding upcoming phenomena and changes in society, and in the world of work and the company population, is crucial for supporting the competitiveness of their enterprises and keeping talent.

Farmindustria's president, Marcello Cattani, highlighted that the pharmaceutical industry thrives on innovation and research, and is sensitive to changes due to the speed of adaptation and excellent human resources, which are key competitive assets. The industrial relations model in the sector is inspired by dialogue, participation, and the ability to co-evolve, transforming the contract into a strategic lever for the future of the sector.

The inquiry project emerged within industrial relations and has no precedents at the sector level. It will be conducted by directly involving companies and workers, who will be given two specific questionnaires designed with the University of Milan's Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods (DEMM). The analysis will cover the characteristics of the corporate population, the values and expectations of companies and workers, the impact of artificial intelligence, representation and participation issues, examining generational differences and various dimensions of diversity.

The inquiry results will then serve as the basis for the Sectoral General Meetings of Industrial Relations, scheduled for spring 2027. The event will serve as a forum for analyzing and discussing the main challenges of the coming years: digital transition, artificial intelligence, new organizational models, demographics and skills, in a context of geopolitical scenarios that also impact the labor world.

The goal of companies and trade unions is to strengthen knowledge of these phenomena to support the central role of the enterprise and industrial relations in the progress of society, addressing the needs of collective growth and well-being.
