Can Leeds move closer to 40 points against 'unimpressive' Palace?

Leeds United are currently unimpeachable in their Premier League campaign this season, having not lost a single match. Daniel Farke's side have amassed eight points from their opening four games, with defender James Justin expressing their ambition to reach 40 points in their second season following promotion from the Championship.

Simon Rix, the bassist of Kaiser Chiefs, commented on the club's prospects of securing European football. He emphasized that it would be premature to discuss their chances in the upcoming months, stating that they must wait until at least ten games into the season to make such predictions. However, Rix noted that with their strong start, securing 20 points over the bottom three teams would be a commendable achievement, potentially sparing Leeds from a relegation battle.

Reflecting on their previous seasons, Rix cited the club's ability to perform well when they were assured of safety. Under both Marcelo Bielsa and Farke, Leeds had thrived after being promoted from the Championship. It seems they may replicate that success, as they currently boast a solid defense, having conceded only three goals in the Premier League thus far.

Crystal Palace, their upcoming opponents before a three-week international break, have struggled this season, recording six goals scored but 11 conceded. While their recent results have been mixed, losing to Ipswich and Everton and only defeating Fulham, Leeds see them as a favorable opponent. The club's defensive prowess and ability to capitalize on chances could prove advantageous against a team with their current form.
