Brazil police nab suspected serial killer disguised as woman

Brazilian authorities have apprehended a suspected serial killer who had been on the loose since May, with an alleged count of at least 16 deaths. The suspect was apprehended while disguised as a woman, carrying a baby in his arms. He claimed to have killed over 80 people, though civil police have confirmed involvement in 16 killings in the Paraiba state region, 11 of which the suspect admitted to during questioning.

The 16 homicides all transpired since May, and the identities and details of the victims have not been disclosed. The suspect had previously attempted to evade capture a few weeks ago, leading to a 30-hour manhunt in a forested area. He was seen wearing a dress and long black wig during his arrest. The suspect denied being part of an ultra-violent criminal group, stating that all his victims were linked to the criminal underworld and that he was taking justice into his own hands. He claimed he had committed his first homicide at the age of 13.
