PT Usha stands out as the leading Indian athlete in this regard, winning 11 athletics medals across four Asian Games editions between 1982 and 1994. Her performances were particularly noteworthy at the 1986 Asian Games in Seoul, where she secured four gold and seven silver medals, including victories in the 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles, and 4x400m relay events.
