Asian Games: Tajinderpal Toor replaced as India’s flagbearer due to kit

During the opening ceremony of the Asian Games, India had to make a last-minute decision to replace shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor as the male flagbearer. The Indian Olympic Association confirmed this in a brief statement. Toor's absence was due to technical issues as he had not received his official kit, making it difficult for him to attend the opening ceremony.

Pawan Sehrawat, a kabaddi player, will now serve as India's male flagbearer. Toor had learned of his flagbearer status only on Friday, which prevented him from obtaining his kit in time. The Indian athletics team, set to bring numerous medals to India at the Asian Games, has been training at the University of Tsukuba near Tokyo since September 13 and is scheduled to arrive in Nagoya on September 21, two days prior to the athletics events.
