5-star Georgia QB decommit making his first career start

Jared Curtis, a highly-rated five-star quarterback from Georgia, will take the field for Vanderbilt in his inaugural game on Saturday, September 19. Curtis' transfer from Georgia to Vanderbilt came shortly before the early signing period. One of the primary motivations behind his switch was the prospect of more opportunities to play.

Curtis initially lost the quarterback competition to Vanderbilt senior Blaze Berlowitz in Week 1, but now the tables have turned. Vanderbilt's coach, Clark Lea, made Curtis the starter for their Week 3 home game against NC State. In the game against Delaware, which Vanderbilt won 35-26, Curtis contributed three touchdowns, throwing for 210 yards and one touchdown pass, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities.

He also gained a rushing touchdown on eight carries. In contrast, Berlowitz completed only three of his nine passes for 29 yards during that same contest. Berlowitz and Vanderbilt managed to score just 28 points against Austin Peay. Curtis' debut will undoubtedly be a topic of interest for Georgia fans, as he was previously committed to UGA and could potentially start for the Bulldogs in two weeks when Vanderbilt visits Sanford Stadium.
