Uddhav Thackeray says dragging his name into Disha Salian case politically motivated

On Thursday, Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray accused those dragging his name into the Disha Salian case of engaging in "politically motivated" character assassination. He expressed his intent to take legal action if the slander continued unabated, mentioning that his name was mentioned in the FIR alongside several others including Narendra Modi and Donald Trump. Uddhav Thackeray delivered this statement in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar following Marathwada Liberation Day celebrations.

A day earlier, Thackeray's son Aaditya Thackeray had denied ever having met Disha Salian, the young woman whose death sparked the case. However, this denial was met with skepticism, as Aaditya Thackeray himself had been accused of knowing the victim. The Supreme Court's directives led the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to register a FIR based on Disha Salian's father, Satish Salian's statement.

The FIR lists a long list of individuals, including Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Anil Deshmukh, Param Bir Singh, Sachin Waze, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and Rhea Chakraborty, among others.

Apart from the Disha Salian case, Uddhav Thackeray also raised doubts regarding the mysterious circumstances surrounding Gopinath Munde's death. He questioned why the former Union Minister died without even sitting in the Lok Sabha for a single day, suggesting that the government investigate the matter thoroughly. Congress leader Nana Patole echoed similar sentiments, questioning the lack of transparency and the inability to register an FIR against Ajit Pawar. Munde passed away in a car accident in 2014, while en route to Delhi to catch a flight to Beed.
