A 17-year-old suspect was hospitalized for seven days in Batu Pahat Magistrate's Court for allegedly attacking his sister's 14-year-old brother three times while he was sleeping, causing severe injuries to his lungs and back on Saturday morning. The court granted police permission to assist in the investigation. According to Batu Pahat Police Chief Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, the victim is currently receiving treatment at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI) following the incident.

The attack is believed to have occurred at 5 a.m. when the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with a 14.5-centimeter knife. Prior to the incident, the suspect reportedly saw the victim and his 14-year-old sister arguing, but he did nothing. He returned home from Rengit the night before the attack and entered the victim's house without the family's knowledge.

Once inside, the suspect began beating the sleeping victim, who woke up and continued to be attacked by the suspect. The family was unaware of the incident as everyone was asleep. After attacking the victim, the suspect fled the scene while the injured victim was taken to HSNI by his mother. The suspect was later detained at a second-hand goods store to aid the investigation.
