Once inside, the suspect began beating the victim who was sleeping and continued his assault as the victim woke up. The attack went unnoticed by other family members who were also asleep.
After assaulting the victim, the suspect fled the scene while the injured victim was taken to HSNI by their mother. The suspect was later arrested at a clothing store to assist with the investigation.
