Abia North senatorial district representative, Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed his disapproval of the conflict between the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors' Forum and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. The APC governors have refused to support the Rainbow Coalition, founded by Wike, which has frequently nominated candidates in multiple states.

The governors argue that the coalition's continuous candidate nominations could negatively impact APC leaders, particularly President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign. However, Wike maintains that the coalition is fully committed to Tinubu's re-election, accusing some of the dissatisfied governors of being unmotivated and not actively supporting Tinubu during the 2023 elections.

In response, Senator Kalu shared a video on his official Facebook page on Friday, stating that he shares the governors' concerns and would similarly resist the idea of alternative candidates being fielded in their respective states. Kalu emphasized that he would not tolerate such a situation if he were a governor facing a similar political challenge.

Nevertheless, he urged both sides to reconcile their differences and unite in backing Tinubu's re-election in January 2027. "I appeal to the governors, as former Minister Nyesom Wike who used to be a governor, that we should not quarrel at this crucial time. Campaign is not limited to Abuja, so we must return to the grassroots. Both parties should reconsider their positions and work together," Kalu stated.
