Singapore Airlines named world’s best airline for 2026

Singapore Airlines has been crowned the world's best airline for the sixth consecutive time in the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards held in London on September 18. This prestigious recognition marks the airline's consistent excellence, with SIA having claimed the top spot in 2023, 2024, 2025, and now again in 2026. Qatar Airways secured the second place, while Cathay Pacific Airways completed the top three, followed by All Nippon Airways and Turkish Airlines.

Singapore Airlines' success extends beyond the top tier, as the carrier also won awards for the world's best economy class, world's best economy class onboard catering, and best airline in Asia. The airline additionally achieved second place in the world's best cabin crew category. SIA Group CEO Goh Choon Phong expressed gratitude to customers for their trust and support, emphasizing the commitment to delivering an exceptional, world-class travel experience.

Scoot, Singapore Airlines' low-cost subsidiary, secured the title of best long-haul low-cost airline for the sixth consecutive year. Scoot also placed second in the world's best low-cost airlines category, outperforming Malaysia's AirAsia and Spain's Vueling Airlines. Scoot CEO Leslie Thng expressed satisfaction with the recognition, highlighting the airline's focus on comfortable, reliable, and seamless travel experiences.

Scoot aims to continue innovating and enhancing the customer experience as it reinforces its position as a leading low-cost carrier.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on a survey of over 24.8 million travelers globally, who rated more than 300 airlines between September 2025 and August 2026. These awards are often referred to as the Oscars of the aviation industry. Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted congratulated Singapore Airlines and Scoot on their major achievements, emphasizing the level of product and service excellence the airlines provide to customers.
