#SHOWBIZ: 'Konspirasi' eyes special edition release, awaiting Finas' green light

Kuala Lumpur - Production company Elepfilm Entertainment is hoping to relaunch its film Konspirasi in cinemas soon, following its brief run that was cut short on May 28. Executive Producer Jack Yeoh confirmed that a special edition of the film is in the works, with an official announcement expected within the coming week. Elepfilm is awaiting directives from the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) to secure a screening date and permission to relaunch the movie. Fans and viewers have shown strong interest, eager to support the re-release.

Beyond Malaysia, Elepfilm plans to bring Konspirasi to Taiwan and South Korea, as well as to digital streaming platforms. The film's performance in Singapore was promising, as it ran there for six to seven weeks when it was previously screened there. Elepfilm is also exploring negotiations with additional countries for screenings and distribution.

Konspirasi, directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar, follows an elite anti-corruption unit as they combat political corruption. The film, starring notable actors like Datuk Adi Putra and Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim, faced controversy after its screening was abruptly halted in Malaysia.
