The Dansoman Circuit Court has granted a 45-year-old sales executive, Prince Charles Boateng, a bail of GH¢2 million over alleged UK visa fraud, according to prosecutors. Chief Inspector Emilia Mensah, the prosecutor, stated that Boateng introduced purported successful applicants to Augustine and later demanded £2,585 for the services of Patrick Bismark Mensah, who was said to assist with obtaining UK visas and certificates of sponsorship. Boateng allegedly received payments from one of the applicants, Dickson Kofi Adjei, into his Zenith Bank account at Takoradi branch on September 10, 2024.
However, after receiving the money, Boateng began giving excuses about the process. Augustine subsequently found out that the purported company did not exist and no visa or work permit application had been processed. Boateng was arrested on December 17, 2025, and charged with defrauding by false pretence.
