Poland’s prime minister says Russia is preparing ‘accidental’ drone and missile strikes on NATO countries that support Ukraine

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk revealed during a parliamentary session that Russia is allegedly preparing hybrid strikes, involving both missiles and drones, targeting nations supporting Ukraine. Intelligence assessments support this claim, as reported by Reuters. Tusk warned that there's a "real risk" of drones or missiles entering the territory of one or more NATO countries on the eastern flank, potentially causing damage.

These strikes, Tusk stated, would be "accidental" in nature, aimed at discrediting NATO members willing to invoke their provisions in cases of aggression against a member state. Such attacks could coincide with political shifts in certain European countries, where leaders may promote peace and pacifism while secretly advocating for Ukraine's "total capitulation."

In recent months, drones have frequently entered the airspace of Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia due to Russian electronic warfare, prompting NATO to shoot down a drone over Lithuania on September 15. Tusk emphasized that the escalation by Russia is becoming a reality, with potential threats growing closer to their borders. Russian forces have already targeted a gas station near the Polish-Ukrainian border and a passenger train on the Kyiv-Warsaw railway line.
