New Princess Diana documentary featuring confidential audio tapes

Nearly three decades after her death, Princess Diana continues to captivate audiences in the arts and literature, as evidenced by the new three-part documentary series "Diana Unheard". This series delves into previously unreleased audio recordings of the late royal, presenting a fresh perspective on her life, personal relationships, and interactions with the royal family.

The three-part series, produced by independent British production company Love Monday TV, has secured global rights through Cineflix Rights. The series features Diana reflecting on her life, discussing her relationships with key figures such as Prince Charles, Camilla, and Prince Andrew, as well as her discussions with close friend Dr. James Colthurst.

These tapes were instrumental in Andrew Morton's seminal biography, "Diana: Her True Story". Producers and interview subjects include Colthurst, Morton, and Diana herself, whose audio tracks provide a unique insight into her thoughts and experiences. Kieran Barfield, Creative Director at Love Monday TV, emphasized the documentary's intention to challenge the prevailing narrative, portraying Diana as an active participant in shaping her own story, rather than merely a victim of her circumstances.

"Diana Unheard" is scheduled to premiere at the MIPCOM trade market in Cannes, France, thirty years after Diana's untimely passing in a Paris car crash at the age of 36 in August 1997. The debut coincides with a contentious public rift between Buckingham Palace and Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, following the release of his memoir, "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister", which offers a critical examination of his sister's life and tragic demise.
