Napoli is seeking an industrial plan to attract high-impact investments, focusing on the manufacturing sector and the return of young talent fleeing the South. This was the main message from the annual assembly of the Napoli Industrialists' Union, attended by Confindustria President Emanuele Orsini, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani, Campania Regional President Roberto Fico, and Napoli Mayor Gaetano Manfredi.

The assembly also paid tribute to Margherita Perretti, president of the small industry in Basilicata. Giuseppe Genna, the union's chairman, emphasized the need for a multi-year industrial plan that points to attracting investments in the Mezzogiorno and Napoli. While acknowledging the region's growth, Genna warned that without cohesion policies, trends could reverse.

The World Sindical Union (Svimez) predicts only a 0.4% growth in the South and 0.5% in the Central-North by 2027. Genna praised political stability and international reputation but stressed the importance of a national industrial policy adapted to upcoming challenges. He argued that the South should not be limited to an energy hub, but should develop data centers and other industries to create high-quality jobs and strengthen national defense.

Orsini highlighted the Zes Unica model, which has attracted over 1400 inquiries and 9 billion euros in new investments, creating 25,000 jobs. Minister Tajani also praised the Zes model and presented new Neapolis 2500 programs to promote Napoli globally. The mayor of Napoli, Gaetano Manfredi, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for a strong manufacturing and industrial presence in the metropolis.

Both the mayor and industrialists agree that returning to growth is crucial, though they differ on how to achieve this.
