Henry has been instrumental in the Swiss brand's foray into football, guiding the company's trajectory since late 2025. This move marks the end of a monumental 20-year partnership between Mbappe and Nike, which began when Mbappe was just eight years old in 2006. Nike had positioned the teen prodigy as a leading global football ambassador, producing signature Mercurial boots throughout his career.

Mbappe’s departure is a major blow to Nike, especially as the company had strategically built its post-Ronaldo football vision around him. "From the beginning, what drew me to On was the opportunity to construct something entirely new together that will help shape tomorrow's game," Mbappe declared in a statement on On's official website.
