Manchester United make decision on Michael Carrick’s future after Brighton defeat

Manchester United are weighing up Michael Carrick's future following their recent defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion. The Red Devils suffered a shock 3-2 loss at Old Trafford after coming back from a 2-0 deficit. This poor start to the new season has sparked speculation that United could be prepared to sack Carrick. However, according to The Athletic's Laurie Whitwell, the English manager's position remains secure.

Carrick must ensure his team win their upcoming match against Fulham on Sunday, or the pressure will mount on him. United's recent performances have been inconsistent, with only two wins in their last six games across all competitions. Despite leading 2-0 early on, United struggled defensively, allowing Brighton to equalize and secure a dramatic comeback victory.
