Lindsay Clancy trial: Holdout juror breaks silence in US mother’s 3-child murder case

A lone juror in Lindsay Clancy's 3-child murder trial, Lindsay Clancy's holdout juror has broken his silence, stating he had "no doubts" about his decision not to reach a unanimous verdict. The juror, Michael P Desronvil, argued that the physical evidence, key witnesses, and prosecution's case were sufficient to prove Clancy's intent and premeditation.

Despite Desronvil's conviction, the jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision, leading Judge William Sullivan to declare a mistrial on September 4. The jurors had deliberated for over 38 hours, with Desronvil remaining the lone dissenter. The case centers around Clancy's mental state at the time of the killings, with her defense arguing she suffered from severe postpartum psychosis and was therefore not responsible for her actions.

The holdout juror's personal background, including a domestic violence accusation, has also drawn attention, though it is unclear whether this information was disclosed during the jury selection process. Clancy remains in a psychiatric facility, and the fate of her case now rests with the Plymouth County District Attorney, who has not yet decided whether to seek a retrial.
