Hannah Yeoh leaves Istana Negara as Pardons Board meeting concludes [WATCH]

Hannah Yeoh, a minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Federal Territories, departed from Istana Negara at 9.43am following a meeting of the Federal Territories Pardons Board. Her car was observed leaving the palace grounds shortly after the meeting concluded. However, Yeoh did not engage with reporters upon her departure.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar also exited the palace grounds. Yeoh arrived at the Istana Negara building at 7.48am, ahead of the meeting, coinciding with Dusuki. Both individuals are members of the board, chaired by Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia.

The board's meeting follows reports that it will reconvene today with a singular agenda item: the reconsideration of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's pardon application. This application had been postponed from the 63rd Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting on September 11, with deliberations deferred to a later date.

Najib commenced serving a 12-year jail term in August 2022, following his conviction for corruption related to a subsidiary of 1MDB. The Pardons Board reduced his sentence by half in 2024, and further decreased his fine from RM210 million to RM50 million. In December 2025, he was found guilty of abuse of power and money laundering involving over RM2 billion linked to 1MDB, and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment and a RM11.38 billion fine. He is presently appealing this conviction.
