Doha Festival City expands its community wellness programme

Doha Festival City has announced the expansion of its community wellness programme with the launch of "RunFest 2026" on September 25. This indoor running festival, open to participants of all ages and fitness levels, aims to promote healthy lifestyles and personal health goals within the community. The event will transform the mall into a 1.3km running track from 7am to 10am, featuring races in five categories: 10km, 5km, 1km Fun Run, 1km Kids Run, and 500m Mini Kids Run.

Accompanying the races, an Event Village will host live entertainment, spectator viewing areas, warm-up sessions, exhibitor booths, and age-appropriate activities for visitors of all ages. The festival will conclude with a podium presentation honoring the top performers and awarding them with exclusive Doha Festival City Gift Cards.

Tugrul Comert, Doha Festival City asset management director, emphasized the mall's commitment to fostering a welcoming environment where people can connect and prioritize their wellbeing. Doha Festival City has also partnered with the Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSFA) to launch the weekly Friday Community Run, which garnered over 6,000 participants between May and August 2026.

Additionally, the 5K Steps Challenge, a step-tracking initiative promoting mall-wide activity via a live leaderboard, was introduced. QSFA executive director Abdullah al-Dosari highlighted the importance of making physical activity accessible to all segments of the community and integrating sport into daily life across Qatar.
