A weight off Igor Thiago's shoulders - Brentford v Chelsea ratings

Brentford secured a 3-0 victory over Chelsea, climbing to third place in the Premier League. Goals from Jaidon Anthony, Igor Thiago, and substitute Fabio Carvalho secured the win, ending Chelsea's winless league run of three matches. Caoimhin Kelleher put on an accomplished display though he was never required to make any outstanding saves.

Michael Kayode played a couple of sloppy passes and rarely ventured forward. Kristoffer Ajer was a sizeable presence at the back despite being pressured from crosses and set-pieces. Jannik Schuster excelled in his own box and set up the winner. Keane Lewis-Potter made a poor clearance leading to a chance for Chelsea but was impressive on the counter-attack.

Yehor Yarmoliuk, on his 100th appearance, threatened with a long-range effort and created Brentford's best chance. Vitaly Janelt provided a physical presence in midfield. Mikkel Damsgaard delivered an incredible whipped corner, leading to the opening goal. Kevin Schade produced several pressure-relieving dribbles and played a part in the final two goals.

Igor Thiago, on a four-game goalless run before kick-off, delivered with a late strike to secure victory. Jaidon Anthony missed Brentford's best chance early in the second half but responded well to score the opener. Fabio Carvalho, on a short spell on the pitch, ghosted in nicely to add a goal. Subs not used included Ballcombe, Henry, Wilson, Frederick Emiliano Martinez, Wesley Fofana, Maxence Lacroix, Levi Colwill, Pedro Neto, Jordan Henderson, Valentin Barco, Pep Chavarria, Cole Palmer, Danny Welbeck, Morgan Rogers, Josh Acheampong, and Geovany Quenda.
