Dar Announces Inquiry Against Foreign Ministry Scandal

The federal government has established a three-member inquiry committee to examine allegations of misuse and irregularities within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' document verification system. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has been informed of a media report regarding the system's flaws. The committee will be led by Petroleum Secretary Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh, accompanied by Law Secretary Raja Naeem Akbar and Special Finance Secretary Qamar Sarwar Abbasi.

Their investigation will focus on any misuse or irregularities in the apostille signature authenticity and document verification process. Additionally, the committee will assess the involvement of courier services and determine if any Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials were implicated. The committee is tasked with proposing reforms to enhance the system's integrity and will deliver its findings and recommendations within two weeks.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Additional Secretary (Admin) will cooperate fully with the committee, granting it access to all pertinent records and materials. The inquiry was announced by Ishaq Dar, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, who first reported on the matter through ProPakistani.
