Dadah RM17.2 juta dirampas, 2 ditahan dalam operasi di Sarawak

Policing authorities in Sarawak have seized an estimated RM17.2 million worth of drugs in two separate operations held throughout the weekend. This was revealed by Sarawak Police Chief Advisor Zainal Abdullah. In the first operation on September 11 in Kuching, approximately 107,518 kg of drugs, valued at RM12.89 million, were confiscated.

This included 50.1 kg of MDMA powder, 32.3 kg of ketamine, 25 kg of MDMA liquid, and 0.118 kg of Erimin pills. A local man aged 39 was also arrested in a house, with the syndicate believed to have been active since July 2026 and using a house as their processing, packaging, and storing location before distribution around Kuching.

The drug test of the suspect's urine found positive for methamphetamine/amphetamine, and the man was detained for seven days starting from September 12 to help the investigation. In the second operation on September 14, a 23-year-old man was arrested in Jalan Mendamit, Limbang. In this operation, the police seized 84.07 kg of drugs, including 81.21 kg of syabu, 2.06 kg of ketamine, and 0.80 kg of MDMA powder, with an estimated value of RM4.3 million.

The syndicate was believed to have been active since November 2025 and used a four-wheel-drive vehicle to transport drug supplies from Miri to Sabah via land route. The suspects were detained for seven days starting from September 15 to 22 to aid the investigation. Both cases are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
