Crystal Jade has now closed 5 Singapore outlets in 2026, with Clementi Mall and Jurong Point the latest

Crystal Jade, a 25-year-old restaurant chain operating in Singapore, announced the closure of three outlets in a single month, bringing the total number of closures this year to five. The Hong Kong Kitchen outlet at The Clementi Mall closed on Tuesday, while the Jurong Point location is scheduled to cease operations on Friday. These closures are part of the company's ongoing outlet network review, as reported by The Straits Times and AsiaOne.

Established in Singapore in 1991, Crystal Jade has expanded its presence globally, with over 100 outlets across various dining concepts in Singapore and international markets such as China, South Korea, and Vietnam. The group's local operations in Singapore currently consist of six restaurant brands, including Cantonese fine dining, casual noodle, dim sum, and other Chinese cuisine concepts.

Crystal Jade's Crystal Jade Golden Palace outlet at The Paragon mall earned a Michelin star between 2016 and 2018. Following the latest closures, the company now operates 13 outlets in Singapore, comprising four Hong Kong Kitchen restaurants. The shutdowns join a series of food and beverage closures in Singapore this year, with 2,101 such businesses closing in the first seven months, marking a 25.1% year-on-year increase, according to data from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority.

Furthermore, the Singapore Department of Statistics reported a 1.9% year-on-year decline in F&B services sales to an estimated S$1.6 billion in July, with food courts and other eating places, as well as cafes, experiencing the most significant declines of 6.6% and 6.4%, respectively. Fast-food outlets and food caterers, however, reported sales growth.
