Bullets rain in Punjab: Another ASI shot dead; 2nd cop attack within a week
An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Punjab Police was fatally shot while on patrol. Unidentified assailants opened fire on ASI Harjit Singh near Bhagtawala Grain Market. The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of one crore rupees for the family. This killing follows recent attacks on police personnel in Punjab. Investigations are underway to identify those responsible for the shooting.
