Bil’Arabi spotlights tools and inspiration to turn ambition into action

The second edition of BilArabi Annual Gathering 2026 commenced on Saturday at Multaqa in Education City, under the theme "With Our Ideas, We Build". Organised by Qatar Foundation's BilArabi initiative, the event gathered senior dignitaries, thinkers, creators, and experts from various sectors to discuss harnessing knowledge and creativity to address societal issues.

Young individuals in Qatar possess the ability to transform innovative ideas into prototypes with the aid of local facilities, yet require heightened awareness of available resources, as noted by a participant at the Bil'Arabi Forum. Mohammed al-Qassabi, head of the Qatar Scientific Lab's Robotics and AI Department, affirmed that the lab would join the Ministry of Sports and Youth at the forum's second edition to showcase the transition from concept to prototype using resources like 3D printers and CNC machines.

He highlighted that many resources are underutilised in Qatar and that such events are crucial, especially for the youth. Qatari adventurer Khalid al-Jaber utilised the forum as a platform to share his unique journey from a motorcycle hobby to a livelihood. He recounted his travels to 95 countries on a motorcycle, emphasising that he aims to inspire others to follow their dreams, regardless of the field.

Al-Jaber described the forum as a "great hub" for the Arab world, providing a platform for individuals with stories to share and an audience. He initially doubted his contribution when invited to speak, as he perceived himself as a motorcyclist and adventurer, but ultimately recognised his story to be equivalent to those of successful professors and teachers.

Media professional and author al-Jaber travelled more than 21,000km along the Silk Road, becoming the first Arab to complete the "Pole to Pole" journey by motorcycle across 15 countries. His travels are documented through photography and film, illustrating his experiences with overcoming fear, discipline, resilience, and starting anew.
