Battle for Truth is Over: Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal addressed the closing ceremony of the Digital Design and Verification Training 2026 on September 18, urging Pakistan to transition from a "battle for truth" to a "battle for development." He emphasized that the nation's future economy should be built on knowledge, technology, innovation and exports.

Iqbal highlighted that the government approved the Digital Design and Verification Training Program, aligning with Prime Minister's vision. The inaugural training program for Digital IC Design and Verification educated 40 students over a four-month period. He explained that these participants were not just receiving certificates, but were actively contributing to establishing Pakistan's foundation in the emerging technology sector.

Iqbal underscored that semiconductor and chip design capability forms the backbone of a modern economy, and young individuals can transform knowledge into technology, which in turn can be converted into exports. He commended GIK Institute for cultivating high-quality human capital and pointed out the establishment of seven national centers in 2017, focusing on big data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and robotics.

Additionally, he announced that Quantum Valley Pakistan would serve as a cornerstone for advanced technology, research and innovation. Iqbal urged Pakistan to leverage its recent accomplishments and concentrate on economic development, advocating for the next phase to emphasize the creation of technological capabilities, augmentation of exports and enhancement of a skilled workforce.
