Houston Astros infielder Carlos Correa revealed that his doctor halted his comeback attempt from ankle surgery, citing concerns over his readiness for the upcoming season. The Houston native, who underwent ankle surgery on May 11, was expected to miss six to eight months. Despite participating in live batting practice, Correa began to experience significant pain and inflammation in his ankle, leading to an MRI.

The doctor informed him that the tendon was not mature enough, prompting Correa to stop pushing for a return. Correa expressed that he had dedicated himself to the process over the past four months and was disappointed by the decision. He plans to undergo another MRI in two months, anticipating a full recovery and readiness for spring training without limitations.

For now, Correa has reduced his workouts, refraining from hitting for a month and avoiding any activities that could strain his ankle.
