14 foreign motorists caught without valid licences within four hours

Kota Tinggi police conducted a four-hour operation targeting foreign motorists without valid licences today. They seized 14 vehicles, comprising 11 motorcycles and three cars. Superintendent Yusof Othman of the district Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division explained that the operation, which took place from 7am to 10am, also resulted in 39 traffic summonses.

All 14 vehicles were seized under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987. The primary focus was on foreign drivers and motorcyclists who violated traffic laws and regulations. Among the offenses detected were 14 instances of driving without a valid licence, eight cases involving motor vehicle licences or road tax, and five instances of driving without insurance protection. Additionally, 12 summonses were issued for other traffic violations.
