Wike: Musa-Ododo backs APC governors against Rainbow Coalition

Abdulrahaman Musa-Ododo, Chairman of the National Policy Dialogue, has defended the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) in its rejection of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike’s proposed Rainbow Coalition. Musa-Ododo asserts that the PGF, led by Governor Hope Uzodinma, made the correct decision by expressing its position on the coalition, emphasizing that the controversy is not centered on a single individual but rather an established institution.

Wike and APC governors are currently at odds over the Rainbow Coalition, which has amassed over 100 senatorial candidates and numerous other candidates for 2027 elections. The APC governors have recently distanced themselves from the coalition, intensifying the rift between Wike and Uzodinma leading up to the 2027 presidential election.

Musa-Ododo, speaking on Arise News, stated that Uzodinma and his counterparts had made the right choice and should uphold their position on the coalition. He argued that the coalition's purpose should not be to undermine the foundational principles of the party. Musa-Ododo urged for a focus on national development rather than an unprincipled pursuit of power, emphasizing that the PGF, as an established institution of the APC, had acted constitutionally by issuing a communiqué stating their stance.
