Taylor Swift’s Husband Travis Kelce Duped In $35 Million Ponzi Scheme, Indian-Origin Man Gets 11 Years In Jail

Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce was among 99% of investors who lost money in a $35 million Ponzi scheme orchestrated by Indian-born investment adviser Siddharth Jawahar, who has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. Prosecutors in the US District Court in St Louis allege Jawahar, 38, pleaded guilty to three counts of wire fraud and was ordered to pay $31.35 million in restitution to victims.

Jawahar, who had been living in the US illegally since 2005, allegedly used investors' money to fund an extravagant lifestyle, including private jet travel, luxury hotel stays, expensive restaurants, and shopping. The scheme involved consolidating 99% of client funds into a single, declining investment in Philip Morris Pakistan, and then falsely claiming profits to new investors while using proceeds from them to repay earlier investors.

The alleged scheme ran from July 2016 to December 2023, with Jawahar receiving over $35 million from Swiftarc investors, but only investing around $10 million himself. Other athletes, including NBA players Gary Harris, Tim Hardaway Jr, and Mason Plumlee, are also reported to have invested with Swiftarc.
