State aiming to achieve 20,000 MW renewable energy capacity by 2030 for ‘Green Telangana’: Bhatti Vikramarka

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the State government aims to generate 20,000 MW of renewable energy by 2030 to transform Telangana into a 'Green Telangana' and promote sustainable development. To achieve this goal, the government is installing 1,768 kW solar plants on 379 government school buildings, as well as rooftop solar systems and solar pump sets in 27 model solar villages in Khammam district.

Vikramarka, who holds the Finance & Planning and Energy portfolios, inaugurated a one-MW solar plant in Rajupalem and another is currently under construction. Additionally, 41 new electricity substations have been sanctioned in Khammam district, while an indoor substation in Khammam town has been sanctioned at a cost of ₹6.5 crore.

The Deputy Chief Minister also revealed that ₹394.80 crore in bank-linkage loans have been disbursed to 4,008 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), ₹16.36 crore in 'Stree Nidhi' loans to 555 SHGs and ₹57.15 crore in interest-free loans to 52,059 SHGs. Furthermore, the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Scheme and Palair Link Canal works have been accelerated to irrigate 1,38,790 acres of new ayacut, and the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted other flagship schemes such as Indiramma Housing, Rythu Bharosa, free bus travel for women and fine rice.

Vikramarka concluded by laying foundation stones for tourism infrastructure works worth ₹2.90 crore at Chirumarri Cheruvu tank, and a new library building worth ₹40 lakh in Mudigonda mandal.
