St Leger win has removed Osborne's fear of failure

Saffie Osborne, the 24-year-old jockey who recently won the St Leger, has declared that the fear of failure has vanished from her mind following her historic achievement. The victory at Doncaster on Saturday means she can now look back and feel satisfied that her career was worthwhile, despite her desire to achieve even more. Osborne, who is passionate about racing, acknowledged that the sport can be isolating, often involving long hours of solitary travel.

She has also experienced her fair share of injuries and falls, some of which resulted in broken bones. However, the prospect of winning one of the British Flat racing's five Classics had been a lifelong dream since she was just five years old. The sport has traditionally been male-dominated, with only six female jockeys having ridden in British Classics over the past 250 years, despite having opportunities equal to those of male jockeys.

Osborne, who now sits eighth in the Flat Jockeys Championship, expressed her ambition to become the first female champion jockey in the future, and credits her agent Tony Hind for his crucial role in her success.
