Rams officially place Myles Garrett on IR: How long is he out for?

The Los Angeles Rams have officially placed Myles Garrett on injured reserve, according to a report on Thursday. Garrett suffered a knee injury that had been a concern throughout training camp and preseason practices. The injured reserve stint will see him miss four games, but the Rams have the option to keep him on IR for a longer duration if necessary.

Garrett is currently set to miss games against the Giants, Broncos, Eagles, and Bills before potentially returning in Week 6 against the Cardinals. Notably, the Rams did not replace him on the 53-man roster, retaining an open spot should they need it. They acquired Garrett from the Browns in June in exchange for Jared Verse and three draft picks.

Garrett had missed significant portions of training camp and practices leading up to Week 1, but managed to play in the opener against the 49ers. However, he is now expected to be sidelined for at least four games. During a recent press conference, head coach Sean McVay declined to provide a firm timeline for Garrett's recovery, stating that it would be unfair to him to make any predictions without having all the relevant information.

McVay expressed that the team would take things one day at a time, and noted that Garrett could be available in four weeks.
