QEF names al-Thawadi as advisory board co-chair

The Qatar Economic Forum, backed by Bloomberg, has introduced His Excellency Hassan bin Abdullah al-Thawadi and Kevin Sheekey as co-chairpersons of its Global Advisory Board. This announcement came in joint effort with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Al-Thawadi, who serves as managing director of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, and Sheekey, who is the global head of external relations at Bloomberg LP, were chosen for this role.

The forum also revealed its roster of board members for the upcoming term, 2026-2027, with members picked from influential figures in global business and policy. Al-Thawadi expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with the other board members to further enhance the forum's reputation, highlighting its ascent to the status of a leading global economic gathering, which mirrors Qatar's objectives and the requirements of international participants.

Karen Saltser, the chief executive of Bloomberg Media, stated that the co-chairs' extensive knowledge in global markets, policy, and investment would bolster the forum's program and amplify its influence as world leaders convene during a critical period for the global economy.
