Qatar strongly condemns Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia's Taif governorate

Doha, Qatar, strongly condemned a Houthi drone attack on Saudi Arabia's Taif governorate that resulted in civilian casualties on Thursday. The Kingdom's civil defense reported that debris from an intercepted drone had killed one civilian and injured two others, causing damage to buildings and vehicles.

Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the attack in the strongest possible terms, calling it a "shameful" act of aggression and a "disregard" for the lives of innocent civilians. The statement also emphasized that the assault was a "blatant" breach of Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and a violation of international law.

Doha expressed full solidarity with Riyadh and pledged to support all legitimate measures the Kingdom would take to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests. The ministry highlighted that the security of the Kingdom is integral to that of Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

In a show of empathy, Qatar conveyed condolences to the family of the deceased and extended wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.
