Qatar finalized preparations for high-level UNGA 81 participation: MoFA Spokesperson

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari has confirmed that Qatar has completed its preparations for high-level involvement in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) scheduled for September at UN headquarters in New York. The theme for this year's assembly is "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All."

According to Dr. Al Ansari, Qatari officials will engage in a series of bilateral and multilateral discussions with their counterparts from various countries and representatives of international and regional organizations during the assembly. These conversations will focus on enhancing relations across different sectors, exploring new avenues for cooperation, and deepening strategic partnerships.

Additionally, the discussions will cover a review of regional and global developments and measures to de-escalate tensions, particularly considering Qatar's role in efforts to resolve regional and international disputes and establish solutions for achieving stability and enduring peace.

Dr. Al Ansari emphasized that Qatar's participation this year will prioritize supporting international peace and security, advocating for dialogue, mediation, and de-escalation, upholding respect for international law and the UN Charter, reinforcing multilateralism and restoring faith in the international system, ensuring aid reaches the most vulnerable groups and nations, and continuing mediation efforts despite the ongoing crises and challenges confronting the region.
