Qatar completes preparations for high-level participation at UN General Assembly: Al-Ansari

Doha, Qatar - Qatar has finalized preparations for senior-level involvement at the 81st United Nations General Assembly, taking place this month at the UN headquarters in New York. Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, the Prime Minister's advisor and the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed this detail. The assembly's theme is "Restoring Trust and Reigniting Global Ambition: Delivering on the Promise of the United Nations."

The current session occurs amidst tense global situations, primarily due to regional conflicts that have escalated since February. Dr. Al Ansari shared these concerns in a statement to the Qatar News Agency, emphasizing that Qatari officials will engage in numerous bilateral and multilateral discussions with their counterparts from various nations and representatives of international and regional bodies during the event.

These discussions will aim to bolster relations across multiple sectors, open new avenues for collaboration, deepen strategic partnerships, and assess regional and international developments in order to alleviate tensions, particularly given Qatar's active role in efforts to resolve regional and global conflicts and pave a path toward sustained peace.

Dr. Al Ansari stressed that Qatar's participation this year will prioritize supporting international peace and security, fostering dialogue and mediation, and ensuring respect for international law and the UN Charter. Additionally, Qatar aims to enhance multilateral actions and restore confidence in the international system, support sustainable development and humanitarian efforts, ensure aid reaches those most in need, and maintain mediation efforts despite ongoing regional crises and challenges.
